There was a time when I thought I had a shot at becoming a professional basketball player. Nowadays, I define myself as a multi-faceted creative professional. Hi, I’m Nabeeh (Na-bee) and I have gifted hands. My acquired skill set includes Illustration, graphic design, front-end web development (coding), animation, and creative direction. All challenges welcome!
I graduated from Temple University in 2009 with a BFA in Graphic & Interactive Design. I’ve been a front-end web developer since 2008, but I’ve also continued to nourish my creative side. In 2010, I co-founded CreativeJunkFood, a multi-media production boutique which focuses on video/animation and design to promote individuals and organizations through the art of storytelling. In 2013, I co-created the Callaloo Kids children’s brand which focuses on cultural literacy and social awareness education with books, multi-cultural characters, a web series, children’s theater, and more. As you can see, I wear many hats, but I love them all.
In February 2017, driven by my passion to take charge of my life, I resigned from my very comfortable job as a senior web developer in order to forge my own path (scary, but no great reward without great risk). The result thus far has been a renewed sense of confidence and a world of inspiration. Yes, I’m a freelancer 🙂
These days, I live and work in Washington, DC. When I’m not working, I enjoy running, doodling random characters, reading, or just watching a movie. You can follow me on instagram (@honestsnob) to check out what I’ve been up to lately.
